QUALITY AND FOOD SAFETY

Food safety from barn to table

Implementation of international quality management systems, one of the world's most stringent salmonella controls and high hygiene requirements, has made DANÆG a guarantor of high quality shell eggs and egg products with sublime food and delivery security.

OUR CERTIFICATIONS

Food safety is the DANÆG Group's top priority. Therefore, all the Group's companies are certified according to ISO or similar standards, which ensure sublime food safety and the quality of processes and products.

STRICT SALMONELLA CONTROL

One of the world's strictest salmonella controls has made Danish eggs largely free of salmonella today. The prevalence of salmonella is so low that since 2012 Denmark has had salmonella special status in the EU.

FROM SHELL EGG TO EGG PRODUCT

Hygiene and safety are essential when turning fresh eggs into processed egg products. Therefore, the process takes place in a strictly controlled production environment with employees who are trained in food hygiene.

TRACEABILITY

DANÆG was the first to introduce traceability codes on eggs in 1895, and today it is an EU requirement that all eggs in the EU must be labeled with a traceability code. The codes allow the individual egg to be traced back to the farmer.

DANISH EGG ASSOCIATION

In 2016, three Danish egg packing stations - all members of the trade organization Danish Egg Assocation - agreed on a unique set of rules and requirements that ensure high quality Danish salmonella free eggs, produced with a focus on animal welfare and traceability throughout the production chain.

PURVEYOR TO H.M. THE QUEEN OF DENMARK'S HOUSEHOLD

As early as 1906, DANÆG was named "Purveyor to H.M. The Queen of Denmark's household". It is a predicate that we are very proud of - and which is an important part of our company's history.
